Copper State Peruvian Paso Club News

The Mary Donald Clinic on February 12th was great.  As always, Mary was a gracious, helpful clinician.  Everybody gained a great deal from Mary’s tutelage.  Thanks goes to Jenice McQuarrie who oversaw the raffle from which the club earned $185.  Thank you Bill and Becky Chase for hosting.  6 riders and 7 horses participated.  Quite a few members showed up in the cheering section. The weather was beautiful, the company wonderful, and the food must have been outstanding ‘cuz you brought your own!  Oh, Vilora Walker brought some delicious homemade chicken soup.  It went great with this writer’s sandwich.

The club garage sale netted $280. Thank you Della Noski for getting us started. Thanks to Jeannie Sullivan for lending her home as venue. Special thanks go to Bill & Becky Chase, and Tiny Lynn Waddell for organizing and running the sale. Thanks to our members for all the donated goods. Great job!

Welcome to new club members Donna & William Bunten, Robert Peers, Margaret & John Toma, and Luis Trujillo.

Thank You Kathy Russell.  Kathy has served as the club’s Treasurer for a long time.  Kathy’s new business and other obligations no longer permit her to continue as Treasurer.  However, Kathy will remain an active member of the club.  With a few lessons from Kathy, Julia Shepherd will be serving as Treasurer in the near future.  Kathy has always been an enthusiastic club member and supporter.  Special thanks is due her for all her help and support over the years.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Carousel Horse Show is March 16th-19th

The Peruvian Paso classes should be exceptional this year.  Along with our local folks, the California barns are making a great showing again this year.  At the end of February there were over 30 Peruvians entered in the show.  With the future of DSHA and the Carousel Show uncertain for next year, this year’s show is one you shouldn’t miss. It promises to be one of the best.
